Ollie

Guess what!! Dave and I are proud new parents of an 8 week old black and tan hound. He is a feisty little guy who is just now getting comfortable with his surroundings. We brought him home on Saint Patrick's Day and he has certainly kept us on our toes these past few days (and nights).

Currently, Ollie enjoys:
-jumping on the pinestraw
-running through the yard
-chasing Dave's heels
-biting our hands
-eating leaves
-playing with the neighborhood chihuahua (Rufus)
-and SLEEPING wherever he decides to collapse!

Weddings, etc.

For those of you who are engaged or who love all thing wedding, you probably saw the advertisements for The Bridal Market. The Bridal Market is "A Runway Event" that took place a few weeks ago. This year brides were able to catch a glimpse of the hottest trends in wedding fashion with an on-going, New York-style fashion show production!

Ivory and White asked if I would be interested in modeling for their store in the fashion show! I must admit, I adore Ivory and White. The gowns are stunning, the decor is soothing and the service is absolutely amazing!  Armed with my 4 inch heels, I made my way to the precious boutique. There were five gorgeous gowns lined up in the dressing room for me to try on....I thought I was in heaven! Most of the dresses fit like a glove and they happen to be created by my good friend, Vera....Vera Wang, that is. Here are a few snapshots of me in the dressing room.

The Bridal Market day has arrived and before stepping foot on the runway I was backstage with a hairstylist and makeup artist  simultaneously working on me---it was wonderful! Ahhh, the life. Now the runway music was pumping and it was showtime! I could feel the excitement of the audience as I was handed a bouquet and stepped onto the walkway. Ready...Set....Strut!

I was such a great experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Dave and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day this year! Dave received a fun basket full of goodies! The goodies included: DVDs, a clock, a few small tools and Dove chocolate, his favorite (actually, mine!) He brought me some orange and yellow roses which were stunning!!....and look even more beautiful today! Here are a few pics to prove it!

If only they could stay this perfect...

Snow in the Dark

Tonight we had between one and two inches of snow! Dave decided to be a photographer and take some pics around the house...along with a self portrait :)

My Cutest Neighbor!

The other day I babysat for my sweet little niece, Lily! We had a really good time gliding in the chair until one of us fell asleep. I wonder who it was...? :)

Clasping her hands together like a little lady ....
Then throws them open!

This is my favorite picture! She definitely has her mommy's eyelashes!!

Deer Dave Makes a Killing!

I would consider Dave as a "Jack-of-all-Trades." He certainly knows how to bring home the bacon, or the venison in this case. :)  Here are a few shots of his latest 8 Point kill!!

July 4th!!

Since I've known Dave it has been a tradition to attend a July 4th party at David Romano's house for fun and fireworks! This year was no exception! We took two picture before leaving the house. His sister and her husband were there as well and we had a blast cooking out and catching up! Dave even serenaded us with a few piano songs that he composed off the cuff! What talent!

Fashionable Footwear

This morning I arose at 5:50 a.m. for my morning jog with a few girlfriends. Little did I know this would be my last jog in a long...long time. We were but half a mile from my house when all of a sudden my left foot rolled over on itself and I heard a loud and deep "POP!" I fell to the ground and I knew that my running days were temporarily put on hold. My good friend, Barrow, sprinted back to my house to get her car and came to pick me up. After dropping me off at home, I hobbled into the house yelling for Dave. Quickly he came to my rescue!

We rushed to Mom and Dad's house to grab a pair of tattered crutches that were too short but did the job. Not only was my foot throbbing but I felt super goofy hopping to and fro! The medical clinic (aka. "doc-in-the-box") took a few x-rays and concluded that my 5th metatarsal was BROKEN! The doctor proclaimed that it was a "beautiful break," and such a "gorgeous fracture."

Our next stop was to our orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Cowley, who preformed numerous operations on Mom, Hiliary and John. The first thing the doctor did was smash his index finger into the swollen golf ball on my foot....uh....OUCH!

The Verdict: I am to wear a hard cast (up to my knee) for 4 weeks. Then 4 to 8 weeks in a removal boot---so basically 3 months of inactivity.

I opted for a black cast but Mom blurted out "That's morbid!" so I chose the color blue instead, which I regret. I told Mom I wish I had stayed with the black color and with a straight face she said, "You should have put your foot down!" Ha, thanks Mom! :)

Ball of Roses 2010

On June 4, the Ballet Guild hosted the 50th anniversary of the Ball of Roses. I was on the photography committee where I pinned roses on both Fathers and escorts of the debutants. I ran into a few situations where I wasn't certain which was the Dad and which was the date!

My super hunky husband was my date for the evening...and he looked more handsome than ever!
