Since I've known Dave it has been a tradition to attend a July 4th party at David Romano's house for fun and fireworks! This year was no exception! We took two picture before leaving the house. His sister and her husband were there as well and we had a blast cooking out and catching up! Dave even serenaded us with a few piano songs that he composed off the cuff! What talent!

Fashionable Footwear
This morning I arose at 5:50 a.m. for my morning jog with a few girlfriends. Little did I know this would be my last jog in a long...long time. We were but half a mile from my house when all of a sudden my left foot rolled over on itself and I heard a loud and deep "POP!" I fell to the ground and I knew that my running days were temporarily put on hold. My good friend, Barrow, sprinted back to my house to get her car and came to pick me up. After dropping me off at home, I hobbled into the house yelling for Dave. Quickly he came to my rescue!
We rushed to Mom and Dad's house to grab a pair of tattered crutches that were too short but did the job. Not only was my foot throbbing but I felt super goofy hopping to and fro! The medical clinic (aka. "doc-in-the-box") took a few x-rays and concluded that my 5th metatarsal was BROKEN! The doctor proclaimed that it was a "beautiful break," and such a "gorgeous fracture."
Our next stop was to our orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Cowley, who preformed numerous operations on Mom, Hiliary and John. The first thing the doctor did was smash his index finger into the swollen golf ball on my foot....uh....OUCH!
The Verdict: I am to wear a hard cast (up to my knee) for 4 weeks. Then 4 to 8 weeks in a removal boot---so basically 3 months of inactivity.
I opted for a black cast but Mom blurted out "That's morbid!" so I chose the color blue instead, which I regret. I told Mom I wish I had stayed with the black color and with a straight face she said, "You should have put your foot down!" Ha, thanks Mom! :)

Ball of Roses 2010
On June 4, the Ballet Guild hosted the 50th anniversary of the Ball of Roses. I was on the photography committee where I pinned roses on both Fathers and escorts of the debutants. I ran into a few situations where I wasn't certain which was the Dad and which was the date!
My super hunky husband was my date for the evening...and he looked more handsome than ever!

Mt. Cheaha
On Friday Dave and I decided to go camping with Lauren and Jeremy on Mt. Cheaha. We had such a blast...granted we were camping for less than 20 hours.
Happy One Year Anniversary!
This past week was our One Year Anniversary! We've been married for 365 days...my how time flies! Dave's good friend, Jeff, was getting married on May 1 in Destin so we decided to pack up and join them while celebrating our own special day! Below are a few photos that sum up our days at the beach.

St. Patricks Day
Not only was this our first St. Patrick's Day together (married), but we were able to celebrate it in style with Pat and Mom! Our first stop was the Barking Kudu then off to Jackson's for a late night dinner. Below are a few photos that pretty much summed up our evening! How lucky are we!?!

My Herbs
So I've decided that it's time I grow my own herbs. Let's face it, it is too darn expensive to buy fresh chives, basil or even parsley for one recipe. Under my window sill sits three pots: Chives, Sweet Basil and Parsley. Yummy! It reads that they will start sprouting in 7 to 10 days.

Valentine's Day
Our first married Valentine's Day together!
This year Dave made reservations for dinner on Sunday night at 5 p.m. He told me that we would dine at a new restaurant downtown called, "Adnarev." Oh, fancy!! It sounds French! Our car pulled up to Veranda!! He tricked me!! The food was delicious! We had chicken gumbo, fried oysters, filet mignon and a warm lobster tail. For dessert, a delicious mango sorbet was Dave's choice while I chose the cheesecake. We retired home with a bottle of wine and a good movie! Don't you just love love!
